What I've been reading, January-February 2015

So I'm starting a new mini blog series entitled "What I've Been Reading" which will be written and posted about once a month. Now, some of you will probably find this EXTREMELY dull, but some of you (shoutout to Molly J. *wink wink*) will probably find it quite informative and interesting if you're a book nerd.

Now, we may not have the same reading tastes.

But I'll be sure that I talk about each book in somewhat detail, so that you can determine if it's something you want to read or not.

P.S. These posts will most certainly be very wordy and chatty. So bear with me please. lol.

So enough rambling, let's get into it!

Book number one:
The Maze Runner series
by James Dashner.
Two words.

The FEELS.
Oh my gosh.
I fell in love with these characters. I grew extremely invested in them and the plot. I couldn't put these books down.
I'm in love.

So in love, I even bought a necklace off Etsy with the name of my favorite character and the series title.
Yes. I'm a fangirl and I'm proud.

Anyway, here's a summary for you:

Thomas wakes up in an elevator, remembering nothing but his own name. He emerges into a world of about 60 teen boys who have learned to survive in a completely enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies. A new boy arrives every 30 days. The original group has been in "The Glade" for three years, trying to find a way to escape through the Maze that surrounds their living space. They have begun to give up hope. Then a comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change. There are some great, fast-paced action scenes, particularly those involving the nightmarish Grievers who plague the boys.

It's amazing.

Book two
Girl Online
by
Zoe Sugg

So you can already tell by the cover that this book is NOT for everyone. I didn't even know if I was going to care for it or not.

But let me tell you,
I loved it.

Here is the summary:
Penny has a secret.

Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.

But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.

Sigh. It was so romantical. (Yes, I just used that word.)

And NOT in a.....mature(?) way. It was the sweetest love story I think I've ever read. And it DIDN'T revolve around just the romance! In fact there was zero romance till almost half way through the book.

I really love how her family and friends were so involved in the story, and how it (for the most part) was extremely realistic. As far as these types of books go, that is.

So, that's all I have for now, actually! It seems like so very few, but the Maze Runner series is actually 4 books.

So, let me know if you guys liked this post! It's quite different from what I usually do...but is it good different?

Thanks for reading!
