Guest Post: By the lovely Kate. :)

Hi, It's Kate, Felicia's friend. I decided to do a guest post on 18th century French fashion. I love to find out all I can about historic fashion, especially 18th century! So hopefully this will be interesting:P
To start out, I have spent a lot of time figuring out what the woman wore for under garments in the French court and I finally got it all together. First a lady will put on her shift, a light, knee length dress.

Next she would lace up her stays, made of metal or whale bones.

Next are the shoes and stockings and garters. Garters are to tie up the stocking.

Now, a lady would put on her pocket hoops.

Then she would tie on an under petticoat and an over petticoat. The over petticoat would be more fancy.

Finally she would put on her silk dress. Here are several different styles.

So that is how you would get dresses in the late 18th century French court. Thanks for looking, Kate

Thank you Kate!!! Have a good day everyone! <3

Felicia, I can't see the pictures for some reason. I don't know why. Do they show up on your computer?

  3. Oh my goodness, Tane I'm so so sorry! I had NO idea it was your photo, it was one I found online. I will defiantly use all my own photos from now on. I feel so badly! I'm really really sorry! I love your blog too, it's my favorite. Again, I'm really sorry for using your photo, I had no idea. (That's probably one of the first blogging rules, huh? Only use your own photos. :( ) I'm really sorry, you can be sure I won't use it anymore. Sorry!

    1. No problem, Felicia! I really am fine with it! I just don't want other people thinking I stole it for my own uses. (selling it online. Here's the link to where I do that: http://society6.com/tangerinetane/The-Best-Companions_Print#1=45
Anyway, I'm so sorry that I wasn't really kind in the comment of mine above. Your blog is great, and I look forward to seeing more of it! It is really fine, please don't worry. I'm just glad that you were awesome and handled it so well.
      Thank you. <3
